Back to School RoutinesA reminder of some of the routines and procedures at Kilmaine Primary School and Nursery Unit. Some of the notes included are mentioned in our Pastoral Care policy, available on the school website. These procedures are entirely necessary to not only ensure smooth operations in such a large and busy school but most importantly, to guarantee the health, safety and well-being of all our pupils, staff and parent community.

I strongly encourage all potential applicants to apply for the support available, ASAP to ensure all is in place for the new school year in September 2024. Please apply for this provision even if you do not intend to avail of free school meals for your child.

Everyone Counts, Every Body Moves - Friday 31st MayWe are very excited to share in an event hosted by Active Youth NI which will be in aid of ‘GOSH Hearts & Lungs for Kids’. This event, ‘Everyone Counts, Every Body Moves’ will consist of active sessions throughout the morning until midday and will finish with a whole school dance fest! On the day all children should come to school wearing sportswear (with appropriate t-shirts please) and suitable footwear.

AWARE NI: Mindful Parenting - Free 6-Week Online Course - Starts Tuesday 14th MayAWARE NI, the depression charity for Northern Ireland, is delighted to offer a series of free 6-week online introductory mindfulness programmes specifically tailored for parents and carers of young children. The Mindful Parenting course explores the many aspects of parenting and how bringing mindfulness to our roles as parents enhances our lives and wellbeing and those of our children.

Red Nose Day – Friday 15th March 2024At Kilmaine we are very keen to mark Red Nose Day and raise some money for Comic Relief. This year we are going to have a non-uniform day. As it is on the same day as our Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations in school, we would love to see lots of green or red clothes, along with some accessories (red noses/shamrock headbands etc).
We would kindly ask for a voluntary donation of £1 on this day. All donations will go to Comic Relief. We look forward to seeing lots of red and green on the day!
